Hydrogen Fuel Car
One of the worst things about having an automobile is watching the numbers spin whenever you are filling it up at the gas pump. It certainly has gotten more difficult to keep fueling your car in recent years, especially with the price of gas going up like it has. Believe it or not, there are other ways to fuel an automobile other than using the gasoline that most of us are now using. For example, there is the technology out there to use a hydrogen fuel car and it could save us a lot of money if it ever goes into mass production.
There are actually two different ways that you can use a hydrogen fuel car. The first way is that it would burn the hydrogen similar to the way that it burns gasoline in a combustion engine today. Although this certainly is a possibility, it can create some problems of its own since hydrogen is an energy carrier and not an energy source so would eventually need to depend on commercial power plants in order to provide hydrogen for us. We would essentially end up in the same situation that we are in now where we are dependent on an energy that is at the mercy of those who set the prices.
Another way that we can use a hydrogen fuel car is to burn the hydrogen in what is commonly known as a fuel cell conversion. In this process, hydrogen is fused with oxygen and the result is water and electricity. The water would simply be a byproduct, something that is natural and would not hurt the environment at all and the energy that was produced by the fusion would simply be used to power the automobiles that we drive. This seems like a much more economical way to power an automobile but the technology is not necessarily available for everyone.
There is a way, however, that we can use water which is both hydrogen and oxygen to fuel our cars. Surprisingly, the technology that is available for this to take place has been around for a number of years but it has never been used commercially. There are several different ways that water that can be used to power an automobile and it would essentially become a hydrogen fuel car even though the main component that will be put into the automobile would be water.
It is possible for you to convert your regular gas powered car into a hydrogen fuel car by adding some components that are available at your local hardware store. In essence, you would be creating your own hybrid that would run on a combination of both fuel and water. You may not know this but water will actually burn if it is placed in the right conditions and it can be used as a fuel under those conditions.
